Not sure how 15 credits and a job will feel next year
I just said "next year" and that is creepy
Now here is the fun part...learning to juggle, balance, cram, or whatever you want to call it. I have found myself giving men a hard time about not being able to multitask..well I have clearly concluded I have no room to talk! A little bit of procrastination has made school a blast this week. Haha!
I wrote my third article this week! The original plan was to see how men view pinterest and why or why not they agree with having an account. Well as the interviews took the main idea of the article far far away, you could say I was definitely PANICKED! The focus of the article was changed and the article turned out to be a fun one! You will have to read it! Matter of fact, I'll make it easy for ya.. click below ;)
Thanksgiving was a great time! It was at my cousins church and we celebrated Great Grandma Zelda's 95th birthday. Pretty nuts right?! She is amazing. My long lost friend got home from his mission about a month ago! It's been a blast catching up with him and getting to know each other.
Me and little Ricky on Thanksgiving, she is growing up so quick! Stop it!
I had the whole alley shocked. ;) 4 strikes in a row. He couldn't hang. Once in a life time hahaha.
Thanksgiving break treated me well! Good food, saw some friends/family I haven't seen in a while, Nebraska won, saw the lights at temple square twice, shopped a little bit, and did absolutely NO homework :)
Conference championship this Saturday. THEN THE ROSE BOWL! Goooo big red!
Buying dad shoes for family pictures. We love ross. And not getting ready to go out in public :)
"Woah Stac! Take a picture!" haha. This picture doesn't do these shoes justice. They were 22's.
After our trip to Orem to watch Jeremy get baptized (it was such a neat experience) we checked out the lights! Did a little damage at H&M and people-watched. She is my best friend.
He loves to look like a stud in my passenger seat! Going to get the parents their daily diet cokes. And a slice of beef jerky for the dogs. My dad started that when max became a part of the family..."jerky treat" they know it as.
On our way to get the family picture taken. Mom was running inside to grab her camera or something. You'll have to let me know when you get your christmas card, the picture turned out pretty cute if I say so myself! :)
Well, I just have to push hard through this week..stop blogging and do homework..and maybe think about doing my part for the project haha. Once next monday is over, the rest is easy! Excited to see Papa Rollie & Grandma Sher this weekend. Ready to watch Stevee tear it up in her game this Friday. Love you all!
This is where procrastination has gotten me, the library....sleeping.
It is Thanksgiving! It is a beautiful day! I haven't blogged for awhile, a lot has happened and I am so grateful for pictures, without them I can see how memories are FORGOTTEN.
This would be the coolest guy I know. Daddy's girl for sure.
We decided to go to Brighton last weekend, we laughed the whole day! I love her!
I think i'm cool or something? I love the outdoors SO MUCH!
Hello Winter :) I am ready.
GO AGGIE'S! My first USU bball game. High school friends.. I love her! Fun fact: the blue gloves were given out to every student/fan...because first they are blue and they look cool when we do our cheers together. SECOND, the manufacturer of the medical blue gloves used around the world graduated from UTAH STATE! :)
Making pumpkin pies. These dogs are amazing! Love them to pieces. Max & Stitchy!
So much fun to run into old friends. We were at the bball game (Stevee plays) and us four played bball together! It has been five YEARS since we were playing for Coach Barker (now stevee plays for her) time is flying. Absolutely NUTS! These are some amazing girls.
This is the same exact jersey I played in for 3 years :) Now baby sis has it! Pretty neat right?
They won, and she is such a hustler. Wouldn't wanna be anybody else's sister :) Proud of her!
My main little man has gave me a hard time this week. First, I got back to my apartment monday night and the cage door was OPEN and he was just sitting there patiently as I walked in. Of course I was happy and grabbed him, the weird thing about it was that he wouldnt move or squirm out of my hands. He was acting SO WEIRD. I thought he was maybe cold, so I cranked the heat and held him hoping he would get better. He seemed to get better over night! Well last night (wednesday) I was in Salt Lake with my sister, when I got home my parents broke the news that johnny escaped his cage. His cage is on the counter, which is high up. He definitely had to take a bad fall to get off, makes me so sad. Well long story short, after many tears and prayers...I was searching everywhere and I found him! :) in the fireplace. I love him so much. Sounds stupid I know. I do!
He worries mommy!!!! He is adorable.
This would be my dad and sister. Ha ha ha ha! My family is the bomb.
Well this has been one of those ideas that come out of NO WHERE! On my birthday I was feeling extra fearless and found myself sitting in the Statesman Lounge/office talking with a few editors. Thirty minutes later I was invited to join in on the weekly Wednesday meetings. The type of writing I am doing right now is the "feature section." Which is 700-900 words on a random subject! Sounds easy right? Until you go to the meeting with five ideas to share (at this point I am deathly scared of getting shut down) and.... none of them pass through besides two! The article topic I wrote on this week was an idea from one of the editors in chief. "Crazy Roommates!" There is a rule in writing, like many other jobs, you may not interview anyone you know including family, friends, and friends of friends. With that being said I found myself knocking on random apartment doors late at night asking strangers if they have had any crazy roommate experiences. I got shut down about 3 times, felt real good. NOT! It's worth it once I get my 5 solid interviews. :) I walked out of my water aerobics class at 9 this morning, and found people reading the paper, I hunted a copy down and read it, wet hair and all! The feeling I was experiencing while reading my own ARTICLE was indescribable, I feel so important. So accomplished!! Better believe I grabbed about 15 copies to send out to my family. :) I'm not usually the bragging type, but I can't help it this time. ha-ha! I feel that this is a start to something good, I am being pushed out of my comfort zone, and pushed to my limits with writing. My next article runs in the paper on the 27th, the topic is Men on Pinterest. This one will be a riot! I am on cloud nine. Here is an online version of the paper: http://www.usustatesman.com/roommate-drama-rages-through-students-apartments-1.2793280
This song is for YOU mom & dad. Quite fitting if I say so myself :)
Where to begin? Well for some reason I had a feeling to come home on Thursday, which meant skipping my friday classes. To my surprise I came home to a VERY sick mom. :( She was not doing good at all! So all day thursday we were trying different things to make her feel better. My dad and I went shopping to get her a birthday present Thursday night. Black cowboy boots and a sweater. She loved it! She felt a million times better on Friday (her birthday) so we went to lunch as a family to Chili's, her all-time favorite. Stevee ended up catching the bug that day, slept for a few hours and it was GONE! It was only dad and I that hadn't caught it yet. Watched Nebraska play Saturday, THEY WON :) After the game my dad talked me into going to the gym with him, off we went. At this point I did realize I didn't have as much energy as I should, but I went anyways ha-ha. Sunday morning came around and BAM I was down. Throwing up, fever, and an achy body. Thank heavens I was finally able to hold down some tylenol to eliminate the achy body. Fell asleep and woke up as a new person! :) Being sick is the absolute WORST. Anyways, I felt like baking this weekend, made pumpkin pie and pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. They were yum! The SNOW IS BEAUTIFUL!! I absolutely love it.
She love's me :)
Yummy Pumpkin Delights:)
Oh hello baby blue's :) He's my man.
Taking this little one to school. Dig my outfit? :) My other boots are all up in Logan hahaha!
Looking back at all my posts, I only have a few negative things that I wrote about. Yes, I understand I am not going to spill all my hardships out over the internet, but honestly life has been sailing so smoothly these past few months. Nothing to complain about! I have had a huge burden lifted off my shoulders this past week. I went in and talked to my advisor about spring classes, well I for SURE thought I wouldn't be done with generals for another year because I have taken so long. Negative, at the end of summer semester I will be completed in general education. My biggest fear and hold-back has been math. I took 990 at Utah Valley last year, I was told it didn't transfer here and it is too low of a class to even count towards credit hours. To get into Math 1010 I would need to take a placement test. With broadcast journalism as my major, the highest level of math required is Statistics 1040. Well, to place into 1040 I would need to score at least an 80% on the 12 question exam. Twelve questions sounded GREAT until I comprehended that each question is near eight points each! It took me about an hour to complete, no calculator, just a scratch piece of paper and the computer screen. To my surprise I knew what I was doing for the majority of the questions, if I was stumped..I would figure out an alternative way to work through it. I PASSED THE TEST WITH AN 86%. Happiest girl alive is an UNDERSTATEMENT. So much weight has been lifted off my shoulders this past week. Getting my next semester planned out has been exciting. I have a job lined up for next semester! Everything is just falling together perfectly. Now that I can see the light at the end of the tunnel for generals, it has given me the energy and determination I have needed to push through! My beautiful mom has a birthday around the corner, I am excited to be able to spend time with her and the family next weekend! Missy gave me a picture frame with a saying in the middle for my birthday. It is SO PERFECT and has truly changed my outlook on things. It reads, "Always remember you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem & smarter than you think." It is SO TRUE.
This is how I feel about doing homework some nights. hahaha.
He wants Johnny so bad. He sits in here just staring. He has tried jumping up once. Not going to happen.
We are one happy family! (minus johnny) I seriously am so lucky to have these girls as roommates, such good examples to me. We know how to have a good time!
Bought my little man a new wheel! The one that came with the cage was too small and hung at an awkward angle. This one squeaks, I tried to put WD40 on it, it worked but he didn't like the smell and I was afraid it was toxic. So I washed off the WD40 and put up with the squeaking during the day, but I take the wheel out at night so I can sleep hahaha! His eye is doing much better. He is a happy boy!
So it's Sunday night and we decided we wanted something sweet. Didn't have ANYTHING at home so Addi looked up a recipe on Pinterest. Cookies in a cup, microwavable style. It was an adventure. hahaha! Love this girl.
Wow today has
been incredibly, incredible! I have been extremely emotional all day, for
unknown reasons. I suppose my friend opening her mission call last night was
the start of it all. Driving back from Orem at the crack of dawn this morning
was not all that fun, especially because my case of CD’s were shoved by the
foot of the passenger seat and I was going 80 mph when I noticed. So I couldn’t
listen to the songs I wished, got stuck listening to the radio. I made it to my
home in Layton just in time to see my mom for a minute or two before she had to
head out the door. It isn’t that I am emotional because I am sad; I just feel
like something is missing and I am having trouble putting my finger on it.
Being in Orem made me realize that I can never take a step backward in life,
Logan is my home now. My sweet mom bought me an energy drink on the way out of
Layton so I could keep my eyes peeled. I gave her a hug, and told her I would
see her later. Saying goodbye is never easy for me, but it hasn’t been that hard
in a long time. Shed a few tears on the way to Logan, but it felt good in an
odd way. I was trying so hard to hold in all my emotions last night at my
friends mission call, then going straight to a dance party afterward just
bottled all my emotions up for the night. They needed to escape I’m guessing! I
got to Logan just in time to play with the kitty and hamster for a minute. The
energy drink did its job but there was a problem, I didn’t eat anything with it
so my body was shaking. I have had this happen once before when I drank a
Monster, why did I do it again? Stupid. I almost didn’t make it to class
because I thought I was going to pass out. Decided to hurry and eat a sandwich.
I started feeling better quick after. Forgot to call the newspaper editor about
missing the meeting yesterday, I felt bad about that. After class I
accomplished a lot, set up an appointment with my advisor tomorrow, and
scheduled my math placement exam. After I walked home and talked to my mom I
decided to go get some beanies from the mall before the winter bug bites! On my
way I saw a horrible wreck, there were ambulances and cops everywhere in this
intersection. I have always been a sensitive person, but to a degree. I started
crying AGAIN after I saw the accident; Heavenly Father has taught me more than
I can handle today. I have never been this sensitive. I want to hold onto this
feeling. I ran into a brick wall today when I saw that car accident, I have
been taking EVERYTHING for granted and I am so upset with myself. I have such
an amazing sister that I can call my best friend. My parents know EVERYTHING
about me and are truly the best examples I could ask for. I have friends that
have stuck with me through some of the hardest times of my life and would do
anything for me. I have a roof over my head, attending college to achieve my
dreams, living close enough to home to go and visit, blessed with the
gospel in my life, and today I realized I will not take BREATHING each breath
for granted. Whoever was in those cars today may have taken their last breath;
it could have been one of my friends or family members. Life is so precious and
today I have been STRONGLY reminded of what I need to be grateful for daily. I
started to realize why I was so emotional all day; it was Heavenly Father
reminding me of all the blessings I have been taking for granted. I know what I
have been missing, my grateful attitude!
