CARPE DIEM

A hike that was supposed to take fifteen minutes turned into an ALL NIGHT hike. Thanks to the cop cars hanging out by the parking lot..we hiked the whole mountain side to check out the concrete jungle! Might I add...walking 8 miles in the dark is much easier than in the light! I had no idea where I was, and the journey is more interesting in the dark! Such an adventure!
There are A LOT of things Logan has to offer that I am now being introduced to! One of these being, Herm's Diner. Down to the location, decorations, and quality of food. I AM A FAN! Yes, I am still obsessed...OBSESSED with avocado.
Goodness GRACIOUS that Outdoor Expo sale we had at work this past weekend was quite the experience. Friday was busy, got written up for being late. Maybe Al's should look into not going by freaking military time on the schedule so their employees(me) don't get confused. For the record, 15-21 means THREE TO NINE, not five to nine. WHOOPS. Saturday was so much fun! I got to sale shoes with the Teva Rep all day long. Randy Worster, R-Dub, Woo, MY DADDY is the Teva Rep! :) Seriously, an experience not many people can say they have had. My dad knows his stuff. We are the dynamic duo!
Only some of you will know the picture above means a lot more than everyone elses picture with the ChikFila cow. I HAVE A WEIRD LOVE FOR COWS. Moooooo.
The reaction I get after telling people I am in summer school usually goes something like, "Oh you poor thing, but it'll pay off." or "Man that sucks!"..Well let me just tell you how summer school has gone so far. My dress & humanities class reminds me of the fifth grade. Learning about how and why people dress the way they do has never been a thought. Now I think twice before judging someones outfit! This past week, we had a fashion show for 100 points. I stood there for an hour as my group dressed me up...and I just had to do my thing on the catwalk! I am getting 3 credits for this lovely class :)
Speaking of the fifth grade, this past week I wore a pair of converse I have..and I had a pair just like them in middle school. A few sizes smaller, but they are the exact same. Funny how a piece of clothing, a song, a smell, or a conversation can spark so many different memories.
Seeing old friends from high school usually is an interesting experience. With that being said, I am grateful for the few people I have actually stayed in contact with and their awesome friendships. I hung out with Capri this past weekend and there is never an awkward moment. My dad came in my room to wake us up Sunday morning and said, "It seems like just yesterday I was coming in here to wake you two high schoolers up in the morning..time flies!" His comment hit me in a couple different ways, first that time really does pass quickly. Second, how grateful I am that I have made some friendships that have lasted awhile and that I know my friends are genuine and have my back.
One of the most powerful Hymns in my opinion is on page 300! FAMILIES CAN BE TOGETHER FOREVER!! Along with the song that played at my baptism, "When I am baptized." Oh man talk about chills. Anyways, I am very grateful for my family..our family is growing and changing so much. Little babies, new married couples..but I kid you not each time I am around them the amount of love I feel only grows. I am so blessed, I can't imagine being a part of any other family. I wish my other family members lived closer so I could spend time with them, but I hope they know I have a lot of love for them. Distance is NOTHING :)
I will never be able to put into words how much of an impact my grandma has had in my life. I have felt her love throughout my life stronger and stronger each time I am with her. She is another MOTHER figure to me. I can't explain it. It is hard not being able to see her as much as I used to, but it only gets better when I am able to be with her and grandpa. She is my role model, every characteristic she has, I hope to learn throughout my life. Love you to the moon and back grandma!!
Documenting delicious food has become a new hobby/habit of mine. I used to have oatmeal in the morning in junior high and high school that my mom would make. I was never sold on it for some reason. Logan Utah has had some kind of connection to oatmeal because this past year I have been OBSESSED! I literally crave it. I found a great bowl of oatmeal up here in Logan! Angie's Cafe has a good recipe.
I would like to mention that Walmart Piercing Center does a fine job haha! I am stopping at the double piercing, more than two just isn't for me. My mom has two holes and it looks fabulous! So I am just following in her footsteps. Plus, I was bored. Thirty dollars later, and a short interview with George the piercing specialist in Walmart I now have two studs per ear.
Lastly, I am embracing an epic case of PINK EYE. Fell asleep in my contacts last night, but I have slept in them in the past so I am not quite sure what happened this time. Rocking the glasses for a few days, I might even be banned from Al's since it is contagious!
As for the rest of the week, finishing up my first block of summer school Friday. Putting the boat in the water this weekend! Elise comes home this week :) :) :)..Meeting with my advisor on Friday to see how far along I am..transferring might be in the future plans. Can't forget training for Ragnar! Now that will be an experience to blog about. hahaha. Love you all!!

Beginning of Summer 2013!

I finally went fishing! Paul (Carson's dad) took us to Willard. This is how the drive went.. "Hey Paul isn't there a lot of bugs here? I remember my family came boating here once and never came back because the mosquitos were so bad!"..."No there aren't mosquitos, just gnats! You will be fine." Yeah, sure enough the mosquitos came out and attacked the crap out of our bodies. Carson had 10 on his face HAHAHAHA(watching him get frustrated was the funniest thing ever.) I got a few on my neck and legs, Paul was in heaven. He didn't mind the bugs haha. They said I am good at casting my line! I don't have the most patience in the world, so waiting was hard. Close to the end of the night Cars pulled out a fly fishing pole and caught one, so he helped me and what do ya know.. I CAUGHT MY FIRST FISHY!!! I can see why people love fishing, the feeling was equivalent to getting a good block or kill! (volleyball) I FELT SO ACCOMPLISHED!!

Took off work last Saturday so I could have a long weekend, but I had to head up to Logan Thursday afternoon to go to a group meeting for class. So I called Ms. Samantha Wright to see if she would accompany me. I haven't seen her since Missy's farewell so it was good to catch up with her! Her boyfriend gets off his mission in less than a month! Excited for her! Unreal how many memories we have from freshman year at UVU. Nothing will come close to those Orem nights with Sam & Miss.
It's always fun being home, but I have come to the conclusion that I am going to make the most out of Logan. It will get so much better once Elise comes back beginning of June. We will have such a good summer, right now its just hard being alone. BUT I CAN CHANGE THAT :) Stevee was kind enough to ditch on her plans Saturday night and hang out with Dad and I. We went and Saw 42, and ate at Bostons. My dad helped me with some rough problems this weekend, I always went to mom for advice but MAN my dad knows what he is talking about :) Lucky girls we are!! Very awesome experience at the movie theatre. So the Diet Coke us three were sharing was running low and the movie was about to start so Stevee and I ran out to hurry and get a refill, as we were walking down the hall there was one other person in the hall but a long ways in the distance. The longer I stared the sooner I realized it was Jen Dog, MISSY'S MOM! She noticed it was me and we literally sprinted to eachother. She threw her hands around me and just started to cry. Wow, talk about timing. Seriously I was reminded of how BLESSED I am to have the people I have in my life. She told me that Miss is being transferred to a part of Oregon that involves California! She will be living on an extremely remote ranch and the owners of the ranch recently returned from Australia (where she is headed once she gets her visa)!! Crazy right? After the cute hugging, crying moment Jen and I shared, she looked at me and said "I feel like I am hugging my Missy! This is such a tender mercy, you have no idea how much I needed this." Yeah, I am blessed with a freaking AWESOME best friend. I am so proud of her. LOVE MY AUSTRALIAN!
So mom and I were bored and decided to go out and take a few shots. She was looking for her next destination for a family photo shoot. I decided to get ready for once in my life and we had a GREAT time taking these pictures. She makes me look good!! I see my mom and grandmas relationship and the more I am around my mom I can see that our relationship is taking the same road. I love my mommy!!
Okay so an old friend randomly texted me this weekend and I wasn't really sure how to take this text. "The most insane American Idol contestant reminds me of you...look her up, Mary Roach" So I did just that..yeah kind of an insult haha. I know i'm slightly weird..but not THAT WEIRD! Thank you Kimble for your kind text. Here is the video clip I watched.. and then the picture below is what I sent him. I'm funny.

Missed church Sunday morning so Cars got me to go with him to his singles ward. Single Wards bug me by the way. It was a good time, church is different when you're sitting with someone you like haha! He looked pretty good in his church clothes, so I had to sneak a pic for my own good while he was renting a movie..Yeah, he caught me. Men in church clothes MMMMM!
Well the blog post wouldn't be complete if it didn't somehow involve the animals!! Nala likes to cuddle when her family members don't want to or can't (like when I am curling my hair...or in the shower--she sits on the tub behind the curtain and stares)..and pictures below, whenever you are eating or talking, you can guarantee she will be in your business. Stitches is getting old, look at her grey hair! She snuck a little bite of my pistachio salad. Sneaky dog when it comes to food!!
Well that is the update! The rest of the week should be a breeze! Just school and work! Love you all :)

The latest!!

Summertime has come! The flowers at temple square are AMAZING!!
They look like twins...
I was watching 500 days of summer in my apartment last saturday when Haley came walking in and Tiff was behind her! Haven't seen Tiff in months. We went off-roading in Haley's jeep and then to A&W for lunch.
Face time dates with my mom are the best. This was just seconds before I decided to head home(it was 10 pm)..Why not right? haha.
Missy is doing so well! She sent these pictures last week and I seriously am so happy. Pictures are such a special thing, might be why I seriously capture my life in pictures DAILY. I am beyond proud of her. Love you Miss!
Chillin' on the porch with these babes in the morning is something I could do everyday. Love my animals.
Stevee & I decided to hike up Ensign Peak this past weekend. Simple, but beautiful hike.
This song came on my pandora while driving and it immediately took me back to sophomore year in high school. Thinking about you Sister Hadfield!!
Nala does a GREAT JOB at disturbing peaceful sleepers. This was hilarious watching Stevee move her head back and forth while Nala made herself comfortable. Love these girls.
As I was driving home from Ensign Peak I was thinking of fun date ideas, as I drove under the overpass a hilarious idea sparked...get our favorite ice cream, take some blankets, and then blindfold him while I drove to our destination. Put in the Ipod headphones so he couldn't hear the cars..and then guide him up to the place. Had to get a picture before I revealed where he was! It was a good night, unique...but fun.
